Reception House Waterloo Region is committed to providing an accessible environment for all clients, employees, job applicants, suppliers, and visitors who may enter our premises, access our information, or use our services. As an organization, we respect and comply with the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and its associated regulations. We strive to provide an accessible and welcoming environment for everyone by identifying and removing barriers in our workplace and ensuring that new barriers are not created. The organization ensures that persons with disabilities are provided with equal opportunities. We are committed to meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities in a timely and integrative manner that respects their dignity and independence.

Multi-year Accessibility Plan
This accessibility plan outlines the strategy of Reception House Waterloo Region (RHWR) to prevent and remove barriers for people with disabilities and comply with the requirements of the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
This plan is in effect from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2029. It will be reviewed and updated as needed, and at least every 5 years.

Completed Initiatives
Reception House Waterloo Region has completed the following initiatives to prevent and remove barriers and comply with the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation:
Information and Communication Standards
- Update Reception House website to add accessibility page including information on how to submit feedback, access supports and alternate formats.
- Review organization’s communication methods and online services to ensure inclusion and equitable participation of persons with disabilities.
Employment Standards
- Ensure applicants are aware of Reception House’s commitment to accessibility and ability to accommodate applicants during the recruitment process, upon request.
Customer Service Standards
- Provide accessible transportation to clients as needed.
- Provide all employees with accessible customer service training to ensure they are able to provide all clients with an excellent experience while considering their disability.
New and On- going Initiatives
Reception House Waterloo Region plans to take or is in the process of completing the following initiatives to prevent and remove barriers and comply with the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation:
General
- Move office locations to a more accessible building (Anticipated June 2024).
- Allocate financial budget to prepare for any potential accommodations needed.
Information and Communication Standards
- Consider implementing a resizing option to adjust the font size of the page.
Employment Standards
- Inform and train all employees on the Reception House Accessibility Policy, including the process to request and access accommodations.
- Ensure that accessibility needs are considered during any performance reviews plans implemented.
Customer Service Standards
- Evaluate existing programs and services to ensure inclusion and equitable participation of persons with disabilities.
Feedback and Alternate Formats
Reception House Waterloo Region values and welcomes all types of feedback regarding this accessibility plan. The company ensures that feedback can be provided by persons with disabilities through various methods. Feedback forms, along with alternate accessible methods of providing feedback, are available upon request. Individuals who provide formal feedback will receive acknowledgement of their feedback, along with information regarding any resulting actions based on their submitted concerns or complaints.

Feedback can be provided anonymously if desired, and feedback remains confidential unless the person consents to the disclosure of their personal information. Feedback is received in whatever format the individual providing the feedback is most comfortable with. The personal information of anyone who provides feedback remains confidential in accordance with all applicable privacy laws.
