Reception House Waterloo Region is partnering with St.Jerome’s University to explore Host to Home: Deepening connections and understanding the refugee journey in Kitchener-Waterloo. Join a diverse group of students and community members to discuss Refugee Resettlement in Waterloo Region.

Through story sharing, dialogue and empathy building we will explore the journey of settlement in the Waterloo Region, and, together, discover how we can move from acting as hosts to creating a home of belonging. Throughout the Minka, we will focus on the particular topics of how Housing, Communication/Literacy, and Health affect refugees settling in our region. Arabic Interpretation will be available.
This year’s Minka features:
- Keynote Speaker – Marlene Epp
- Social service representatives from Reception House, Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support and the LINC Program
- Story sharing with people who have lived experience as refugees

*Tickets are $50 and cover the cost of 2 days of programming, all meals and include a cost subsidy for people who might not otherwise be able to attend.
