We have programs and services that support people seeking refuge in Canada from all over the world. Reception House and the Waterloo Region community have always risen to the challenge to welcome refugees, and this is still very true today too as we will be receiving Afghan refugees fleeing from the current turmoil in that country. Given our experience from past crises, we know our community is eager to pitch in. Our clients are in urgent need of housing, family doctors, and various supplies to start their lives in Canada. Here are some easy ways you can directly help:
- If you are a landlord, you can reach out to us to rent out your property to a newcomer family. We have families of all sizes looking for housing across the region.
- If you are a family doctor, you can reach out to us to enrol our families in your practice.
- You also can donate your time by volunteering with us. We need a number of volunteers to provide supports to clients.
- You can also donate your money. Proceeds will go to purchasing essential supplies to help a family restart their lives in Canada. To donate please do so via our website: https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=E334923QE&id=33
This year, Reception House will be welcoming hundreds of refugees from many of the world’s most unstable places and we are grateful for the support of our community partners and the people of Waterloo region as they join us to offer a warm welcome to refugees.
If you are able to help with us these needs, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to connect with us.
We pray for peace in all of these strife-riven countries and communities and offer our support and appreciation to those working for peace.
