There are lots of ways you can get involved and support our newest neighbours in Waterloo Region! It really does take a community to give the Warm Welcome our newcomers deserve. Whether you are able to volunteer your time (scroll down for current opportunities), subscribe to our eNewsletter, SPOTLIGHT, or have other ideas, we would love to hear from you!
Volunteer
Interested in a rewarding opportunity? Our volunteers play an important role in giving our clients and families a Warm Welcome to this community, especially in the following programs and initiatives:

Offer a Roof
Are you a landlord in Waterloo Region? Do you have a space to rent or share? Many refugees are on limited income and struggle to find affordable housing. If this is something you’d like to help with, please contact our Manager of Resettlement and Housing, Emma, at emma@receptionhouse.ca or 519-743-2113 x 123.
Advocate
Many refugees struggle to thrive due to conditions outside of their control. Together we can advocate for affordable housing and other issues that affect not only refugees, but many of the most vulnerable people in our community. Join the conversation online with the hashtag #BecomingNeighbours, or in your community. Make sure to follow us on social media too!
Donate
Your donations make programs such as English Outreach, New Canadian Youth Connections and the Family Partnership Program possible. We also rely on donations for things like mobility devices, children’s needs and health services not covered by OHIP, like dental work. Please consider making an online donation today.
