As #GivingTuesdayWR kicks off the holiday season in Canada, we celebrate the incredible generosity of our community.  We are so deeply grateful to our volunteers, donors, supporters, funders and community partners for their unwavering support and belief in the work of welcoming refugees to our community.

Reception House works with newly arrived government assisted refugees – individuals and families forced to flee their country because of persecution, war, or violence. Coming to a new country is overwhelming. It means starting over, often after enormous loss and trauma.  At Reception House, we assist refugee families throughout their first year, enabling them to settle, integrate and lead healthy and stable lives in their new home, in their new community.

We know we can’t do it alone – your donations support activities that help our clients integrate and thrive.  With your continued help, we can ease the adjustment for newcomers, assisting them along the path to self-sufficiency, belonging and achieving their potential.

Together we help create a warm home and a welcoming community for our newest neighbours.
